I bought the car brand new with 11miles on the clock back in September 2001 from my local Subaru dealer at the time, Eaglesham garage, I also bought my 1st Subaru there too in 1997. When I ordered the car I has some extra cash to spend, so it was a look through the Subaru parts catalogue to see what I wanted, Prodrive exhaust back box and Subaru aero guards all round with full color coding on the car. So when I collected it 10 days later, it was already standing out from the rest.
Where do I start! The car has seen several different styling looks, which for me is more important than performance. I've had 4 sets of alloys, carbon bonnet, carbon Cusco GT boot spoiler, 2 front lips, 3 rear spoilers, 2 rear lower bumper spoilers, Morrette headlights, blackened OE headlights with Jun eyelids to the Sit units I have now along with a Kakumei Racing front bumper, Lister side sills and rear bumper spoiler and a Mines boot spoiler. Performance wise - FMIC, pink injectors, vf35 and remap with an exeddy racing clutch and ACT flywheel and lots of nice ARTEL silicone hoses! It's never ending!
I had done a lot of homework before I purchased any of my mods, so I knew what I was getting, but the biggest mod was the remap which transforms the car.
I wouldn't like to say what I've spent on the car over the years, but I have been helped out by sponsors like Artel and flat4. Including the car, I think I am possibly up in the 40-50k mark and I'm still going.%uFFFD
My aims where to have a car that was different from everyone else, which I think I have managed over the years and making sure it looked different every time I went to a show, so there was something that people would notice. As it was my daily driver I want able to produce an outright sure car when doing 100 miles a day in hail rain and snow. As the cars got older I have stopped using it as much and have kind of turned it into a show car, but now I have more room to do what I want to the car, I think it's going to get the full show car treatment from now on.
As above I have changed the car every to the way I wanted it and I have been slagged and cursed for doing this to a Subaru, where everyone thinks it should be blue and gold wheels!! NO WAY!!
Well I am looking to rebuild the car from scratch! full polishing and powder coating of the suspension, racing bushes and a lot of nice suspension parts and more performance from the engine, which will see a complete overhaul in the engine bay, still keeping the green theme and hopefully a lot more Artel hoses, it's a never ending project for me as I am continuing to change and modify parts to be different from the run of the mill Scooby owner!
